This year, the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Drama Theater celebrates 105 years since its establishment. The history of the legendary theatre troupe from Gorna Dzhumaya is linked to the names of iconic artists over the years, including Vladimir Davchev, Ilia Bratsov, Yordan Spirov, Atanas Vodenicharov, Nikolay Chobanov, Ana Taseva, Ana Dimova, Afrodita Dinova, Eva Tuparova, Dimitar Manchev, and many others.
Currently, the theater’s stage attracts many young actors, as well as prominent theater directors from the new generation, including Staiko Murdzhev, Anton Ugrinov, Veselka Kuncheva, and others.
“We support the theater in Blagoevgrad because we believe that there are important cultural centers without which no local community can develop, and theater is one of them. I am convinced that an active cultural life is key to young people choosing to stay in Blagoevgrad and start families and professional careers in the region. Our mission as a company is to connect countries, cities, businesses, and people through roads. Art is the spiritual glue that creates added value. I believe that by joining forces with the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Drama Theater in Blagoevgrad, together we will contribute to a better quality of life in the southwestern region of Bulgaria,” says Viktor Velev, manager of “Groma Hold”.
“We are grateful for the support of “Groma Hold”. For us, it is a high assessment of the aesthetic direction of the theater’s repertoire and support for our efforts to develop the troupe and attract more and more young artists to it. The partnership between business and theater is also important for the sustainable development of any cultural institution,” says Margarita Macheva, director of the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Drama Theater in Blagoevgrad.
