320 participants joined the event, which combined sports with environmental stewardship and raised nearly €3,900 for firefighting equipment.
“Groma Hold” participated as a partner in the inaugural edition of UNIRUN Blagoevgrad 2026—a charity sports event that brought together active lifestyle enthusiasts and united the local community around the “Pirin Without Fires” initiative. The company backed the event, continuing its long-standing commitment to the development of Blagoevgrad and the surrounding region.
The city’s first UNIRUN event attracted 320 participants, while hundreds more spectators soaked up the atmosphere and cheered on the runners along the course. Beyond the sporting challenge, the initiative had a tangible social purpose: raising funds to purchase firefighting equipment for forestry workers in the remote areas of the Pirin Mountains, within the Strumyani Municipality.
Thanks to the collective efforts of participants, organizers, partners, and donors, a total of €3,885.11 was raised. This amount allowed the campaign to fully achieve its initial goal. Basic firefighting equipment—including gasoline-powered pumps, 500-liter tanks, hoses, and necessary fittings – is now set to be donated to the Southwestern State Enterprise (SWSE). The initiative continues with fundraising for its second goal – a mobile fire-extinguishing system – for which over 33% of the necessary funding has already been secured.
For Groma Hold, participation in UNIRUN Blagoevgrad is a natural extension of the company’s connection to the region. Alongside the execution of infrastructure projects that contribute to local economic development and improved transport connectivity, the company is also committed to initiatives focused on people, an active lifestyle, and environmental protection.
The event demonstrated how sport can unite the community around a specific cause and deliver tangible results benefiting both nature and the people who care for it.
