Right of reply regarding the Mediapool publication of July 7, 2026.
In connection with the Mediapool publication of July 7, 2026, “Is this how RIA is managed? The new boss’s first contract is with the old favorites”, authored by Lili Granitska, “Groma Hold” EOOD exercises its right of reply and categorically objects to the false factual statements, unsupported suggestions and one-sided presentation of the circumstances contained in the publication, which create a wrong idea among readers about the company’s activities, reputation and way of working.
“Groma Hold” EOOD has been appointed as the contractor for the repair of a 6.5 km section of the third-class road “(Karnobat – Burgas) – Mirolyubovo – Izvorishte – Bryastovets – Kableshkovo – Aheloy – (municipality Sunny Beach – Burgas)” from km 22+040 to km 28+531 not because it is anyone’s “favorite”, but because for more than three decades it has been consistently building professional capacity, technical resources and expertise, which rank it among the leading infrastructure companies in Bulgaria.
The company has its own high-tech mechanization, production facilities, qualified engineering and construction teams and proven organizational capacity for the implementation of complex infrastructure projects.
All this is the result of consistent investments and development over the years. “Groma Hold” EOOD has been working on some of the most significant infrastructure projects in Bulgaria for nearly 30 years, regardless of the political dynamics at the national and local levels and the frequent changes in the management of the Road Infrastructure Agency.
In parallel, the company is implementing infrastructure projects outside the country, including in Romania, which is categorical proof that trust in it is based solely on professionalism, technical capacity, financial stability and quality of performance.
It is unacceptable for “Groma Hold” EOOD to be associated with persons with whom the company does not have any contractual, commercial, corporate or other relations. Such an approach does not represent a responsible journalistic attitude to the topic, but only leads to manipulative suggestions that damage the good name and authority of the company. The same applies to the suggestion that the choice of contractor was predetermined in advance. The publication does not cite any evidence in support of such a claim. On the contrary, the official position of the Road Infrastructure Agency clearly presents the facts of the procedure and emphasizes that the agency does not have “old” and “new” favorites, but strictly applies the Public Procurement Law.
The publication also omits another significant fact. This is the first publicly announced decision to select a contractor for a public procurement contract for the repair of republican roads in the last five months. The restoration of the procedures for the repair of road infrastructure is of public interest and represents a positive step towards improving road safety and the quality of the transport infrastructure. Instead of presenting this publicly significant fact objectively, it was used as an occasion to build insinuations against a specific company and against the entire road construction sector.
“Groma Hold” EOOD has always welcomed the holding of a broad public debate on the future of road construction, for transparency of the assignment, more efficient spending of public funds and higher professional requirements for all participants in the construction process. This is a public debate that the sector has been waiting for years and which should be conducted on the basis of verifiable facts, and not through insinuations, assumptions and pre-established theses.
Freedom of speech and critical journalism are fundamental values of a democratic society. It is for this reason that they imply a particularly high responsibility for the accuracy of the facts, the conscientious verification of information and the clear distinction between facts, comments and assumptions. “Groma Hold” EOOD will continue to participate in all public procurements under equal, transparent and competitive conditions, will protect its professional reputation through the quality implementation of the assigned projects and will insist that the activities of each company be evaluated according to the only objective criteria – professional capacity, quality of work, compliance with the law and achieved results.
